JOHKASOU

Johkasou is a Japanese decentralized sewage treatment system that treats wastewater at the point of generation, rather than transporting it long distances to centralized treatment plants.

Each unit combines a purification structure capable of treating both black water (sewage) and grey water (sink, bath, laundry wastewater), producing treated water suitable for safe discharge or on-site reuse.

Key Features

  • Compact and modular design, suitable for homes, hospitals, schools, hotels, factories, and townships
  • Low maintenance and long operational life, engineered on decades of Japanese field data
  • Fast deployment — ideal for both new construction and retrofit applications
  • Treated water can be reused for toilet flushing, landscaping, and road cleaning
  • Reduces dependence on freshwater sources and helps arrest groundwater depletion
  • Customizable to meet local regulatory and discharge norms
